Banana Protein Porridge

Oats are one of my favourite breakfast foods all year round. They're filling and so easy to prepare, plus you can jazz up your toppings to make your breakfast extra exciting. My favourite topping is banana. The creamy fruit and creamy oats were just made to be paired together! We're including a good dose of healthy fats and protein in this recipe to really increase your satiety and sustained energy release (to prevent sugar cravings and those 'hangry' feels).

Ingredients:

1/2 cup rolled oats

1 cup of water

1/4 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp cinnamon

Pinch of Himalayan salt

2 tbsp LSA

1/2 scoop protein powder

1/4 cup of milk (I used almond)

1 tbsp sunflower seeds.

1 tsp pure maple syrup

1 small banana, sliced in half lengthways (or 1/2 a large banana)

Method:

Add the oats, water, vanilla, cinnamon and salt to a saucepan over high heat and bring to the boil. Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 10 minutes or until the oats are cooked through.

Remove from heat and stir through the LSA, protein powder and milk.

Add the porridge to a bowl. Top with 1 tbsp sunflower seeds, 1 tsp maple syrup and the sliced banana.

Enjoy!
