THE ONE Weight Loss Health Hack You're Probably Missing

HEALTH HACK: MOVE YOUR BODY EVERY HOUR.

Did you know that getting up and walking around for 2 minutes every hour decreases your mortality risk by 33%?! AND significantly reduces your obesity risk? That's huge.

Little story of my own with this. A few years ago when I was working on a busy front desk, I was getting up and moving (rushing) around probably 1,000 x a day. These days, I can sit at my desk working for long periods of time without getting up and moving.

AND I have noticed a significant change in my body composition after this change, and the BIA scales at work confirmed for me just how much! Body fat and visceral fat is up a lot more than I thought it would be. Plus my diet and exercise routine is BETTER these days.

I know ageing and other factors come into play, but this just serves as a reminder to get up and move around more often in ADDITION to a good diet and exercise routine.

So here are a few handy tips to get you off your toosh:


You could >>

  • Set reminders on your phone to get up and move around every hour. Make yourself a cup of herbal tea, fill your water bottle, go and annoy a co-worker, anything to get moving.

  • Get a really big water bottle and focus on drinking your 2-3L daily. If you're not moving from your desk all day, you're probably not drinking enough water to send you to the bathroom often enough, AND you're not refilling your water enough.

  • Park your car further away from the office to get a good walk in before and after work (how long do you sit in the car for on your commute?).

  • Go for a walk on your lunch break. Get out of the office and eat your lunch somewhere outside.

I've been focusing more on my water intake and getting up from my desk and walking around as much as possible! Getting into the habit of doing this everyday can have some seriously positive long term health benefits. Our bodies are designed to move!
